When to use this
- Before repair, to understand what’s wrong with your model
- After repair, to verify all issues were resolved
- When your model looks wrong or has unexpected gaps
What it detects
| Error type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Non-manifold edges | Edges shared by more than two surfaces — the model isn’t properly solid |
| Self-intersections | Surfaces that pass through each other |
| Degenerate faces | Extremely thin or zero-area triangles |
| Flipped normals | Surfaces pointing inward instead of outward |
Results
- Count of each error type
- Highlighted locations directly on the model — errors are marked in the viewport
- Click-to-navigate — click an error in the list to jump the camera to that location
Tips
- Non-manifold edges are the most common issue — they mean surfaces don’t form a proper solid
- Run this before repair to understand the scope of issues
- After repair, the error count should be zero or near-zero
- If errors persist after repair, try a different model type preset or quality level
